Hello! My name is Shonda Nohner, and I began teaching at Eden-Valley Watkins in the fall of 2021. I got my degree in Elementary Education at SCSU in 2011 and have since spent most of my time teaching Kindergarten. After subbing for a couple of years in various districts, I officially began my full-time teaching career in 2013 at STRIDE Academy, a small charter school in St. Cloud. When a Kindergarten position opened up in EVW I jumped at the opportunity to teach in my hometown. I am so excited to have such a short drive to work, to be at the same school as my children, and to work in the same community I live in! 

This is my 12th year of experience in a primary setting (7 years of which were in Kindergarten) and I have grown to love the excitement that these young students have for being in school and learning in general. I believe it is my job to feed that excitement, to make school a fun, safe and loving place that students look forward to attending. I genuinely enjoy the relationships I am able to build with each and every student. This is my second year teaching 2nd grade and I am so excited to get to know a new group of students! 

Outside of school, I love to garden, craft and bake. I live just outside of Watkins on a small beef farm with my husband (Ryan) and 3 beautiful children: Leander, Mallory and Waylon. Most often we enjoy our time at home together, taking endless rides on the Ranger and completing home and yard improvement projects!
