I am currently in my 16th year teaching at Eden Valley-Watkins.  I am originally from Newfolden, MN. I graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on 5-8 Mathematics and also have a Masters Degree from St. Scholastica in Educational Technology.  I currently reside in Cold Spring, Minnesota with my wife and our two sons.

I believe that creating a learning environment that is fun and engaging is a major key to the educational success of my students.  I want to instill in my students a passion for learning that will last them a lifetime and be contagious to those around them.  I believe that there are many different ways and approaches of solving a problem and I want my students to have the tools to solve or figure out any problem they may encounter in the classroom and life.  Lastly, I want to create a learning environment where my students feel safe and confident in themselves and their abilities and feel open to share their knowledge with their peers.

In my free time, I can be found over at the high school coaching.  I am currently the 8th grade football coach, Head boys' basketball coach, and Head Girls' Golf coach.  In my spare time, I enjoy being on the golf course, fishing, and spending time with my family.
